You won't be able to eat here, but this old hilltop alehouse has enough character in its four small rooms to make up for that; three are heated by hot Yorkshire ranges in winter. Landlord Ron Crabtree has brewed his own beers for over 34 years and they are much sought after by real ale aficionados. Imported German lagers are available, too. In summer the outside drinking area catches the afternoon sun and commands views across the Colne Valley.
