This traditional family-run 300-year-old coaching inn looks down onto the cobbled Main Street of the famous Brontë town of Haworth. In the charming bar the ceiling beams are supported by timber posts, and locals appreciatively quaff their pints of guest ale. Food is taken seriously and ‘dispensed with hospitality and good measure’. Bar snacks include baguettes, salads and jackets, while a meal in the Gimmerton Restaurant might include belly pork, king scallops with pea purée and crispy pork crackers, followed by pan-fried duck breast on fondant potato with a brandy, orange and cherry sauce. Vegetarians are well catered for.
