A traditional country free house with wooden beams, flagstone floors and log burners. It occupies a prominent roadside site in the village, with plenty of parking and a garden with views to the Surrey Hills; composer Ralph Vaughan Williams reputedly arranged the hymn Kingsfold here. There are three real ales to choose from, while the frequently changing lunch menu might include Ardennes pâté with cranberry compôte; or filo wrapped king prawns to start, followed by home-made chilli con carne; pork fillet with mustard, honey and whisky cream sauce; or smoked cod loin with chorizo, potato and peas; a specials board adds to the choices.
