Unspoilt village local with a long list of ciders and beers
At a glance
Landlords Ben and Chris run a successful modern business within the ancient framework of their unspoilt, rustic country pub. They serve some great local beers and ciders in the beamed bar – too many to list, sadly, but there’s Dark Star Hophead for one, while from Somerset comes Westons Old Rosie. As much as possible, menus feature locally sourced produce, typical dishes being Sussex steak and ale pie; wild rabbit casserole; chargrilled sirloin steak; and pan-seared swordfish steak with chorizo, cherry tomatoes and sherry.
