This eye-catching building at the heart of Linlithgow has only been a pub since 1981, but its pedigree stretches back a further 500 years to when royalty lived at the nearby palace. The eponymous Marys were ladies-in-waiting to Linlithgow-born Mary, Queen of Scots. Low ceilings, striking dressed-stone walls, and period and antique furnishings give the pub a real sense of atmosphere and history. The real ales offered are frequently rotated, and hearty pub grub includes steak and Belhaven ale pie, a selection of burgers, and fish and chips.
