Right by Bridge 65 on the Grand Union Canal, the Navigation has a long history of refreshing narrowboat crews, walkers and cyclists. Keeping draught ales, lagers and ciders in optimum condition is second nature to landlord and former brewery engineer, Mark Ainley. Note to beer-hunters: unique to the pub is Coventry-brewed Lapworth Gold; also unique is Guinness on hand-pull, something Mark's expertise enabled him to devise. Fresh, home-made food served in the comfortable interior includes sandwiches and wraps with chips and dressed salad; poached pear and stilton tart, port and garlic glaze; traditional faggots; and slow-cooked Moroccan lamb with caramelised onion and chickpeas.
