Traditional village pub charm

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

After 14 years at the helm, Chris and Yvonne Lindesay finally bought the freehold of this 17th-century inn in September 2015. With tables and benches on the green opposite, the pub is well within earshot of "Howzat!" from the adjacent cricket pitch. Beams and blazing fires add to the character of the pub, which offers a line-up of eight real ales including Adnams and Harvey's. The inn’s own vegetable garden contributes generously to daily menus, typically featuring courgette and brie soup; chilli con carne; and chicken and chorizo pie. Dogs will certainly appreciate the free biscuits kept in the bar.
