Down a long cul-de-sac and tricky to locate, you'll be pleased you persevered. A real community pub with terracotta floors, oak beams, a warming fire and cricketing memorabilia. The garden has a patio with picnic tables, a vine-topped pergola and a children’s fort. Six frequently-changing real ales come from regional microbreweries, and ciders include local Hazy Hog. The menu is seasonal and local, with modern classics like espresso porter braised oxtail sitting alongside pub favourites such as the popular chicken and ham pie. A huge choice of ales and ciders is laid on during the beer, cider and music festival during the second weekend in June.
