Built as part of the local railway in the 19th century, The Station Hotel has been a pub since the 1950s, outliving the railway which closed in 1962. Inside, you will find scrubbed tables and an eclectic mix of furniture. During the last decade it has established a fine reputation for its gutsy and earthy food listed on the ever-changing blackboard menu. Lunch may start with smoked haddock kedgeree, or lobscouse (a Welsh beef dish), then continue with seared venison fillet and wild mushroom risotto; steamed steak and mushroom suet pudding; or something cooked in the wood-fired pizza oven. Several of the beers are supplied by Suffolk brewery, Earl Soham and there is a beer festival in mid July.
