Built in 1832, it was known as The Alma Hotel for many years, then in 1981 it was the first Sheffield pub to introduce guest beers. The policy continues, with constantly changing (mainly microbrewery) guests from across the country, two hand-pumped ciders, unusual bottled beers, Belgian pure fruit juices and British country wines. The pub’s own Kelham Island Brewery accounts for at least four of the 11 traditional draught real ales.
