Garden

On the Dorset/Somerset border, this 16th-century Grade II listed pub and its neighbouring hamstone cottages overlook the green in the conservation village of North Perrott. The inn has been lovingly restored and an inglenook fireplace, flagstone floors and oak beams are among the charming features inside. Dogs and children are welcome, there's a good beer garden for warmer days, and plenty of rambling opportunities on the doorstep. To accompany ales like Butcombe, and Ashton Press cider, expect wholesome traditional food such as steak and ale pie, pan-fried lamb’s liver, and beer-battered cod. There is also a specials board, and every month sees a different theme night.
