Bustling bar and restaurant in a retail and leisure park
At a glance
Derelict for years, this 16th-century former farmhouse was rescued by Blandford brewery Hall & Woodhouse, whose expert attentions ensured that many of its original features remain visible. Starters on the wide-ranging menu include smoked haddock and spring onion fishcakes; and a deli board for two. Mains could be chicken curry; sautéed breast of guinea fowl; and asparagus, red onion and Dorset Blue Vinney tart, washed down with a well kept pint of hoppy Badger First Call ale. Mature gardens and a courtyard could, for some, be welcome relief following a shopping expedition in the retail park next door.
