The exposed beams and flagstone floors retain the character of this painstakingly restored 17th-century village pub just north of Yeovil. Real ales are on tap and there are 10 wines by the glass to accompany the extensive menu of home-cooked food, which includes pub classics and main meals such as garlic cream cheese stuffed chicken breast with white wine sauce; oven-roasted barbecue pork ribs; or smoked haddock with a creamy mash, mornay sauce and poached egg. Sandwiches, hot paninis and jackets are also available. The large cobbled courtyard is ideal for alfresco dining and spacious, well-equipped bedrooms are also available.
