Closed and derelict for a decade, this 18th-century village pub was bought by the local community, restored to its former glory and reopened. So very much the hub of this picturesque village, just six miles from Bridgnorth, chef Mark Harris creates daily-changing menus around the seasonal local ingredients available. A starter of eight-hour bourbon-glazed barbecue pork ribs with slaw might be followed by pan-fried line-caught coley fillet, leek, pea and spinach risotto. Wash it all down with one of several local ales, perhaps Hobsons Twisted Spire or Ludlow Gold.
