Baron at Bucknell

At a glance

Bar menu
Dog friendly

A stone’s throw from Ludlow in the lovely Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Baron sits at the foot of Bucknell Mynd. It’s beautifully peaceful and there are plenty of great walks if you need to work up an appetite. Good home-made food is what they promise here, and you can eat either in the charming restaurant or the airy conservatory. Start with warm black pudding, bacon and croûton salad, maybe, before moving on to honey-glazed gammon steak, or steak, mushroom and Guinness pie. There’s a pizza menu, too, and a choice of sandwiches and toasted paninis is available at lunchtime.
