Well-positioned on the picturesque Abergavenny to Brecon road, not far from the village centre, The Usk Inn attracts both locals and visitors to the Brecon Beacons National Park and the canal. The inn opened in the 1840s just as the Brecon to Merthyr railway line was being built alongside it. Expect a choice of guest ales at the bar, including Evans Evans Cwrw, along with ciders and popular wines. Typical dinner dishes, based on carefully sourced ingredients, are roasted fillet of monkfish; venison steak with shallot and red wine sauce; and tenderloin of pork with apple sauce and black pudding.
