The name ‘Plum Pudding’ derives from the nickname of the Oxford Sandy and Black Pig, one of the oldest of British breeds and bred in this area. The dog-friendly bar of this pub stocks local and regional ales such as Loose Cannon, and the Plum Pudding’s pork specialities may include gammon steak, fried free-range egg, fresh pineapple and chips, and different flavours of specially made sausages. Alternatives such as filled baguettes and sandwiches, home-made beefburger, aged steaks, and beer-battered cod and chips appear on a menu of confirmed pub favourites. Beer festivals are held in April and October.
