Dating from 1862, this attractive stone-built dining pub prides itself on providing a warm welcome mirrored by its real log fire. In summer, head to the patio for alfresco dining near the kitchen garden that produces a supply of herbs, salad leaves and soft fruits. Inside, freshly-cut flowers and wax-encrusted church candles on the tables adds a rustic touch to proceedings. Everything in the kitchen is made from scratch from local produce. Start perhaps with potted shrimps or local pork pie with spiced apple chutney before enjoying loin of pork with chickpeas, chorizo and tomato.
