Just a short stroll from Oxford city centre, this bustling food pub is run by the same team as Waterloo’s hugely influential Anchor & Hope gastro-pub. There is a similar boho feel to the place with its dark red walls and vintage furniture and the nose-to-tail menu will be familiar to anybody who knows the pub’s London sibling. Expect the likes of wild rabbit and pork rillettes; twice-baked goat's soufflé; braised Dexter beef, celeriac gratin, beetroot purée and watercress; grilled red mullet, caponata and pink fir potatoes; and buttermilk pudding and poached quince. Real ales are complemented by a vibrant modern wine list. There’s books and wooden bricks for children in the sofa area.
