A traditional Cotswold pub with daily-changing menus
At a glance
The 17th-century Horse & Groom still has many traditional elements such as stone floors, a wood-burning stove, and delightful snug area, but is very much in the 21st century otherwise. The contemporary dining room seats 50, and the daily-changing menus are bursting with dishes created from local produce. Start off with roasted cauliflower and Oxford Blue cheese soup; followed by beef, mushroom and Guinness pie; Thai green chicken curry; or pulled pork and roasted vegetable lasange. Vegetarians have interesting choices too – grilled goats’ cheese croûton with basil pesto dressing; or lentil, cashew and vegetable bake, perhaps.
