This popular village pub has been in the capable hands of the same family for very many years. Originally dating from the 17th-century with Victorian additions, it sits next door to the Hardys & Hansons Brewery that supplies many of the beers. Sadly the two nearby railway stations that once made it a railway inn are now derelict. Interesting brewery prints and railway signs decorate the beamed bar and lounge. A hearty menu of pub favourites includes ploughman's and hot rolls, as well as grills and pub classics like lasagne, scampi and chips. chilli con carne and home-made steak and ale pie.
