On the stunning Northumberland coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Wellwood started life as a farmhouse and it’s the oldest building in Amble. Walkers and locals mingle in the bar over pints of cask ales, whilst diners have very different options, with a restaurant, dining room and carvery. As well as a bar menu and traditional pub favourites like bangers and mash and steak and ale pie, there are dishes such as pork Wellington with apple cider jus; seasonal risotto; sea bass fillets, crushed potatoes and celeriac purée; supreme of chicken; and locally sourced sirloin, fillet or rump steaks.
