Beautiful views of the Dales await visitors to this former farmhouse, later a drovers’ inn, parts dating from 1615. When Winston Churchill stayed here on huntin’, shootin’, fishin’ holidays, he no doubt enjoyed the bar, which these days serves eminent Yorkshire real ales like Black Sheep and Dent Aviator. A family of three chefs run the inn (one of whom makes sculptures from sugar).
