Family-run pub in Wharfedale

At a glance

Bar menu
Microbrewed ales
Wheelchair access

The immense and venerable hearth and chimney breast are difficult to miss in the bar of this traditional family-run pub in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales; it’s no wonder visitors and locals alike are drawn here to warm-up on cold wintery nights. Local beers include Dark Horse Hetton Pale Ale. Fresh, seasonal produce is used for dishes on the modern British menus. Seared breast of pigeon with black pudding, Scotch egg, celeriac and truffle, spinach and pancetta is an indicative starter. Follow with pork two ways with bubble-and-squeak croquette, apple, chorizo and sherry sauce.
