The pub stands on the former RAF Clifton airfield, where Westland Lysander aircraft were based until 1942. The long, fully air-conditioned bar incorporates a pool table, dartboard and large-screen TVs. Sandwiches, 'little plates' and salads are on offer, alongside mains such as pan fried stone bass with sautéed wild mushrooms, wilted spinach and buttered new potatoes; slow braised lamb shoulder with cucumber and mint, cous-cous, pickled baby vegetables; or aubergine parmigiana bake with tomatoes, parmesan cheese, Mediterranean salad and focaccia straws. For those seeking an intimate meal al fresco, try The Breezehouse; outdoor dining for hire.
