The Horseshoe is an 18th-century country house set in beautiful grounds by the River Esk, handy for visiting Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and TV’s Heartbeat country. Inside the welcoming bar are oak settles and tables, local artists' paintings, and plates around the picture rails. Along with some great beers, such as Durham Brewery ale, local ingredients are used to create the varied menu, try wholetail scampi and chips or medallion of pork fillet with woodchopper sauce.
