The Blue Boar Inn

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

Lots to see at this character, listed village inn; beyond the beer garden is a notable round-towered medieval church (once linked to the pub by a secret tunnel), whilst inside are quarry-tile floors, beams and a vast inglenook, spread through a jumble of levels marking alterations to this popular local pub over the centuries. It was used as a recruiting station during the Napoleonic Wars; all that’s required of today’s visitors is to enjoy the local Yetman’s beers and indulge the richly varied, Norfolk-based menu, which may include cassoulet of chicken leg and sausage, or pot roast half guinea fowl.
