This family-run former coaching inn is an expert blend of old and new. The fireplace, oak beams and exposed stone walls are original, while the fine wooden floor owes much to the 21st century. Food in the more formal, AA-Rosette restaurant is modern British, offering pub classics with a strong Scottish accent. Noteworthy dishes include braised daube of Perthshire venison, horseradish and chive mash, red wine cabbage and roast quince; grilled John Dory, crab and samphire risotto, roasted salsify and brown shrimp butter sauce; and 'Sun Inn pig on a plate', featuring pork fillet wrapped in Parma ham, sausage roll, crisp black pudding, creamed mash and apple sauce.
