This refined dining pub stands in a road known colloquially as ‘Nappy Valley’, due to its popularity with well-heeled young families. Named after the first Viscount Bolingbroke, who managed to be both brilliant politician and reckless rake, the pub caters admirably for children and adults alike. Expect modern British fare along the lines of beetroot and goats’ cheese tarte Tatin with balsamic glaze followed by braised beef cheeks with haggerty potatoes and red cabbage. Weekend brunch includes boiled egg and soldiers for the very young.
