Overlooking an attractive village green, this is a 17th-century, Grade II listed pub where a log fire keeps the chills away in winter; on warmer days, an outside eating area awaits. The beer pumps in the bar announce Adnams Broadside and Woodforde's Wherry among others. The chef and his team work with only the best locally sourced ingredients, producing a typical three-course dinner of curried smoked haddock risotto with poached egg and crispy pancetta; breast of chicken with pan haggerty, green beans and wild mushroom sauce; and Baileys crème brûlée. Pub classics include Lincolnshire sausages with mash and onion gravy; and barbecued sticky ribs. A change of hands.
