Open all year

Newly refurbished to an excellent standard, the handsome 18th-century stone-built Griffin Inn makes an ideal refreshment stop if you are touring Lincolnshire’s deepest countryside. Speciality teas such as Kandula Pink Ceylon and Ebony Chai are served with shortbread, as is coffee in your preferred format. If visiting at lunchtime, Oakham Ales and two other local brews will be found on tap, which can be soaked up with bar snacks, 'doorstep' sandwiches, or a plate of gammon, egg and chips perhaps. In the evening, a bolognese burger and bucket of chips could be rounded off with rhubarb crumble and custard.
