This lovely creeper-clad hostelry is tucked away in a village outside Spalding. Huddle up to the wood-burning stove with a pint of Black Sheep or Fuller’s London Pride while perusing the menu. All the favourites are here, from starters of whitebait or prawn cocktail, to main plates of scampi with chips and peas, or pie of the day. Chef’s home-made cheesecake with fruit coulis and honeycomb ice cream rounds things off nicely.
