Revitalised village inn serving traditional food

Bar menu
Beer festival

The pub is named after an 18th-century racehorse, and has undergone its own revival; there's a relaxed and informal bar area and a cosy and elegant upstairs restaurant. Everything is made fresh on site, and they’re proud to offer well-kept ales, and great traditional food with a modern twist. You might choose from chicken liver and smoked bacon pâté, or seared pigeon breast with truffle mousseline and black pudding, with the Hercules chicken Kiev or slow-braised beef as a main. Finish with vanilla baked cheesecake or apricot frangipane tart.
