A delightful village inn owned by Joycelyn Neve's Seafood Pub Company, with a central bar leading into three dining rooms, two with feature fireplaces. A tap room is set aside for bar games. Its very ownership dictates fish by the boatload – for instance, spicy crab and brandy bisque with rarebit on toast; salt and pepper squid with rice wine and ginger dipping sauce; and smoked haddock, bubble-and-squeak, poached egg and wholegrain mustard sauce. In addition, expect Goosnargh chicken, ham hock and leek pot pie; and pig on a stick – slow-cooked pork belly with chorizo and pork sausage, rosemary potatoes and apple sauce.
