A farmhouse for nearly 200 years before it became an inn in 1728, today's pub is known for its landlady's well-stocked cellar of changing, locally brewed beers, and for its totally gluten-free kitchen. There's even a gluten-free ale. To follow, say, a beetroot and feta salad, perhaps chunky pork chop with sage and garlic; oven-roasted spiced red snapper; or potato gnocchi with oyster mushrooms. Children have their own menu. A wheat-free Yorkshire pud accompanies all Sunday roasts.
