A family-owned, delightfully remote island pub

At a glance

Bar menu
Kids play area
Wheelchair access
Dog friendly
Free Wi-Fi

Named for the ferry that crossed the Swale to the mainland until the onset of World War II, this 16th-century pub stands in three acres of terraced lawns. The views over the water to Faversham, Whitstable and the North Downs alone are worth the journey, while its open log fires, wooden beams and solid oak floors add to the tally. And then there's the one-AA Rosette food, with the inn's membership of 'Produced in Kent' meaning game from the Harty Estate, beef and lamb from their family farm in Eastchurch and fresh produce from the inn’s kitchen garden.
