Just inland from Cowes, this 300-year-old alehouse's broad appeal attracts people in cars, on bikes, and on foot. However they arrive, the real ale drinkers among them always enjoy setting the world to rights over Island Wight Gold, Old Peculier, or one of the other three beers on offer. The real cider collection is good, too. Home-cooked food includes speciality pies (Wednesday nights for pies), a range of daily-changing specials, and Sunday roasts.
