The Spinnaker is a warmly glowing beacon of hospitality on the island’s east coast. Goddard’s, the island brewer, furnishes the bar with Fuggle-Dee-Dum, just as the island’s farmers and fishermen deliver most of the fresh produce used by the kitchen. Pub favourites such as home-made chicken Kiev with smoked garlic and butter-fried steaks from island herds are a cut above the norm. And finish with lemon meringue tart or a selection of Isle of Wight cheeses, frozen grapes and biscuits. Fourteen refurbished and fully equipped en suite bedrooms complete the picture here.
