With a startling, quirky look of a beached ark, this lively pub makes the most of its setting beside Bembridge Harbour, with a ever-varying choice of daily seafood specials progressing straight from creel to galley. Slow-cooked lamb shank with all the trimmings is another staple at this accommodating local in what is said to be England's largest village, where beers from the Isle of Wight's own Goddards Brewery keep seafarers old and new in chatty mode. A winter fire warms the brightly appointed interior, dressed with nautical and other flags, whilst Morris dancers may brighten up a summer's afternoon.
