Bar menu

The village’s ancient stocks and duck pond are popular with film-makers who frequently use Aldbury as a location, allowing the pub’s customers the chance to witness every clap of the clapperboard. In the oak-beamed restaurant, the comprehensive menu includes salads and platters, as well as pan-fried sea bass with ginger, chilli, garlic and soy; fillet of beef Stroganoff on long grain rice; or braised lamb shoulder for two, puréed root vegetables, sweet potato chips. Among the desserts are bread and butter pudding with custard; and dark chocolate and orange mousse with Chantilly cream. The bar snacks are a local legend, especially when accompanied by Badger Dorset Best or Tanglefoot ale.
