All meat on the Jolly Waggoner’s menu, including heritage varieties and rare breeds, is traditionally reared at Church Farm across the road, together with over 100 different vegetables, fruits and herbs. As Church Farm runs this 500-year-old pub, the food on offer is truly local, being sourced from within a one-mile radius. Start with bubble and squeak or garden soup of the moment, and continue with slow-cooked shoulder of lamb parcel or traditional sausage and mash from the menu. Regular beers are Buntingford and Fuller’s London Pride. The annual beer festival takes place in August.
