Close to the Test Valley Way, The Wheatsheaf welcomes walkers, cyclists and especially dogs. Your four-legged friends will appreciate the barrel of treats on the bar while you sample a pint of St Austell Tribute or Flack’s Double Drop. The pub has lovely gardens and great views, and there’s always something going on – live music and ‘jam’ nights, quiz nights, theme nights, and ‘pie nite’ where there’s a choice of nine or more home-made pies. In the summer there are barbecues and an annual bottled cider festival. Sandwiches, jackets, baguettes and ploughman’s are available, or try one of the other traditional pub dishes such as gammon steak, double egg, chips and peas.
