In the 19th-century, Home Farm, with its distinctive cupola, was a model dairy supplying the now broken-up Walhampton Estate. The old farm buildings, arranged in a quadrangle, have outwardly changed little but the interior is very different, since it is now this friendly and relaxing New Forest pub, although still with a distinct rustic look. It serves real ales from nearby Ringwood, and guest ales from local microbreweries. Those with a penchant for pub favourites, will find them here, including home-made pies; ale-battered fish and chunky chips; and trio of Old English sausages. But if you want something a little more, shall we say, refined then roast rump of lamb with Tuscan potatoes; luxury fish pie; or gnocchi pomodoro might be right up your culinary street. Sunday is carvery day.
