This welcoming 16th-century pub stands across the road from Jane Austen’s House Museum in the lovely village of Chawton. Fuller’s-owned, The Greyfriar offers London Pride and HSB along with an appealing seasonal menu that might include duck breast with plum, crispy fennel gnocchi and soy and orange reduction, finishing with banana sticky toffee pudding and rum sauce.
