Country pub with inspiring menus

At the start of World War II, locals at this 200-year-old rural inn are rumoured to have drunk beer out of the FA Cup, which was despatched here for safe-keeping by the then-holders, Portsmouth. Today's drinkers lack such silverware, but still have great local beers to sample including Ringwood Best Bitter. Located on the village edge overlooking gently rolling Hampshire countryside, the pub’s multiple menus have broad appeal. Main menu options include starters like chorizo and garlic king prawns, followed by roast rump of lamb, pesto polenta cake, roasted artichoke, red pepper and tapenade dressing.
