Bar menu
Open all year

The name of this friendly thatched establishment comes from a folksong celebrating the transformation of barley to beer. It is formed from three 12th-century cottages, one of which was reputedly home to the charcoal burner who discovered the body of King William Rufus who was killed by an arrow while hunting in 1100AD. Beers on offer are Fuller’s London Pride and HSB, while ciders are represented by Westons Stowford Press. The menu has something for everyone with quick snacks and sandwiches, a children’s menu and dishes like pan-fried sea bass fillet with prawn and spinach risotto; and honey-roast ham, fried eggs and chunky chips.
