A pub since 1803, the ‘Oddies’ was taken over by a group of regulars who set about restoring it to its 17th-century splendour. Situated in the High Peak National Park, the pub boasts two log burners, oak floors and a stylish upstairs dining room. In the bar, cask ales such as Abbeydale Deception keep drinkers happy but the excellent food attracts diners from far and wide. Local produce drives the menu, with typical dishes that include chicken liver parfait with plum and cinnamon chutney; steak and kidney pudding; and spiced apple crumble.
