Built from honeyed Cotswold stone in 1563, this pub close to the Cotswold Water Park reopened after a stylish refurbishment under new owners, The Lucky Onion, in October 2015. The extensive choice of real ales and ciders includes Otter Amber, Hook Norton Hooky and Dunkertons Premium Organic cider, with a large number of wines by the glass. The kitchen keeps a close eye on the seasons and makes a point of using local suppliers. A starter of creamed mustard veal kidneys on sourdough toast might be followed by Cotswold White chicken and leek pie with creamed potatoes and buttered chard; or faggots and gravy.
