17th-century inn with splendid Cotswold views

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year
Garden

In winter the warmth from its huge fireplace might prove more appealing than standing on the terrace of this 17th-century Cotswold-stone inn, admiring the splendid views. Originally a farm, it became an alehouse in 1811 and is still full of historic little gems. Typical dishes are starters of black pudding tapas, Scotch egg, chorizo chips or chicken goujons, followed by main courses such as fillet steak, beer-battered cod or haddock, or the Woodchester Whopper burger. Paninis are also served at lunchtime.
