Historic inn with wide-ranging menus

Bar menu
Open all year

Dating from 1554, this pub spent over 200 years as a courthouse and occupies a lovely spot in the heart of the town and opposite the church with its iconic 99 yew trees (legend has it that if a 100th tree is planted, it never grows). Expect a good choice of local real ales, including Hook Norton, Wye Valley HPA and various guest ales. Lunch and dinner menus are varied, offering something for everyone. A typical dinner might start with a Greek-inspired sharing platter or chicken liver parfait with apple and plum chutney and move on to blade of beef and bean cassoulet with dauphinoise potatoes.
